Philip Foday Yamba Thulla was born in Lunsar, Sierra Leone. He holds a master’s degree from Njala University in Sierra Leone. He has published a compilation of short stories, Homecoming: Knowing My People and Other Stories and co-authored a short novel entitled The Chameleon Goes Home. He is presently a PhD candidate in African Folk Literature (TheTemne People) and a lecturer in Literature in the Institute of Languages and Cultural Studies, Njala University, Sierra Leone. He has just completed a full-length fictional memoir entitled, Saving the State House: the Confession of a Thug.
